Some of our favorites:

  • Fiesta Fresh - freshly prepared Tex-Mex cuisine with salsa and condiment bar.  Cold beer and friendly employees.  Reviews here.

  • Bistro Mezzaluna - excellent Osso Buco and Linguine Bolognese.  Fun, intimate bar for pre-dinner cocktails.  Menu.

  • Cold Stone Creamery - 'nuff said.

  • Del Vecchio's - intimate, yet casual atmosphere.  Great pizzas and salads.  More info here.  Update - recent Trip Advisor reports indicate a change in ownership has resulted in decreased food quality.

  • Gruby's New York Deli - always busy; great breakfast and huge selection of deli meats, cheeses and side dishes (cole slaw, potato salad, etc.).  Reviews here.

  • Harold's Diner - open for breakfast and lunch daily during the week.  Fill out your own order form and DON'T make any mistakes.  The cook will call you out if you make any errors in filling out your order.  Huge hamburgers (1/2 pound), VERY greasy fries - you'll need a nap and/or bypass surgery after eating here.  Counter overlooking the grill and tables for 2 along the outside wall.  Review here.

  • Skillets - super breakfast, lunch and dinner - a small sampling of their menu here.  Great Bloody Marys and Mimosas.  More info here.

  • Sticky Fingers - consistently good food and great service.  Menu.  Hickory smoked chicken wings are not to be missed.  Try the habanero BBQ sauce.

Recent recommendations:

  • Sports bars:

    • Hinchey's Chicago Bar and Grill - supposed to have great Philly cheese steak sandwiches and burgers with a superior bartender.  Reviews here.

    • Wild Wing Cafe - stick with the wings, celery and bar snacks.  Across the street from Hinchey's.  Daily bar specials, live music.

    • Casey's - try the major league nachos and burgers.  Lots of TVs around a square shaped bar.  Good Happy Hour. Daily drink specials here and menu here.

    • Reilley's Irish Pub - menu here.

    • Callahan's - website shows "account suspended".  Might be a little leery of that!

  • Pizza/Italian:

    • Bella Italia - in Port Royale Plaza.  Pizza and salad are their specialty.  Menu sample here.

    • New York City Pizza - everything made from scratch.  Delivery available in limited areas.  Menu here.

    • Carrabas - tried and true; hard to go wrong with this chain.  Menu here.

  • Street Meet - in Port Royale Plaza, a new place that looks worth a stop!  Interesting menu items such as Crab Pretzel, Pulled Pork Nachos, Fried Buffalo Pierogies.
